HOW TO GET 8 BANDS IN IELTS SPEAKING

Speaking in English have always haunted the people whose first language is definitely not English. It is for the people belonging to any country where the native language is different. Most of the schools teach students English as a subject.Concentration is made on Grammar and certainly good grades which speak for the student and not the knowledge! We should understand that English is no subject but its a language.Language can be learned only when the focus will be diverted on practical and not just limited to books, grammar, tenses and alas nevertheless marks. I remember when I was in school focus was purely maintained on making student converse in the English Language even if we are normally talking to friends or parents. We were taught English as one of the languages and not mere a subject in which only certain topics were crammed by the students, written in exams, got good grades and THE END!We had no grammar books in school from 5th standard and we were given any random essays and worksheets in the English language exam which worked for us and is still working. This strategy made us focus on English as a language and not just a subject. We would relate our own views, make our very own stories in the essays which we rocked! We also had extemporary meant that a topic was given to a student and only five minutes to prepare. The student had to run his imagination wild, and come up with an interesting topic. It was a great fun and not just a hard, boring subject (for students who understands it as a subject ).Well coming to the IELTS speaking, First, the IELTS EXAM is not the course to learn English. It is just a competitive exam to go abroad. So one needs to strengthen his English language first and then learn the format of IELTS.

  • REMEMBER A PERSON WHO SPEAKS ENGLISH FLUENTLY IS NOT SURELY A PERSON TO ACHIEVE 8 BANDS AND ABOVE.ANYTHING IRRESPECTIVE OF HIS FLAWLESS ENGLISH COULD BE THE CASE. IELTS IS THE TEST OF LOGIC, GRAMMAR HANDWRITING AND NOT SOLELY DEPENDS UPON THE FLUENCY OVER THE LANGUAGE.
I am now going to describe further how to impress a speaking invigilator at the final speaking test:

CONFIDENCE: Confidence is always appreciated.Being nervous will lead you nowhere. This is the most crucial day and being nervous, fumble while speaking English is a big NO NO.Work on reducing hesitation and speak with full confidence.

FICTION: It is generally noted that students can easily answer Introductory questions as well as follow-ups but they get stuck in the CUE CARD ROUND.Basically, it is a fun game guys!Just create stories, relate experiences, even if it has never happened. They are just judging your language in the first place! So just nail it with your imaginary thoughts.

WEAR SMART CASUALS: Surely there is no dress code for the IELTS Speaking Test. But my question to all of you is that since Speaking test is more or less like an Interview If one candidate is presentable enough while other just dressed gross, whom would you score high?Surely the one who is presentable one.Now there is a thin line between being presentable and being handsome or beautiful.I believe, no one on this Earth is ugly, it is only the way one dresses, body language, intelligence which makes one presentable and smart.Coming back to IELTS speaking, if a candidate is presentable enough it will certainly leave a positive impression on the minds of the Interviewer.Avoid wearing complete formals (like a tie or a complete formal suit )this might make you feel uncomfortable and out of place.Hence SMART CASUALS are the best option.
For Girls: A white shirt, followed by a black trouser with a neat hairdo.Slight makeup(neat black eyeliner, with no eye wings and a light shade lip color.)
For Boys: A light shaded shirt and black pants are perfect.Avoid wearing rugged jeans.

SMILE ON THE FACE:Look!invigilators are also humans. They do not want students with faces full of nervousness,no smiles and mugged up topics.Come On guys! wear a smile on your face ,greet the invigilator with a good heartious HELLO and answer them. This will bring a sparkle to your eyes which the invigilator too would not able to deny!

CONSERVATORY: Make your speaking more conversatory. As if you are sitting in a coffee shop and relating your experiences to the invigilator. It will grow interest in them too.Chances of getting good bands will increase as well.Trust Me!

DO NOT BOTHER ABOUT THEIR EXPRESSIONS: Invigilators may or may not show any kind of expressions on their faces. They may not nod their heads in terms to agree with what you are saying. They may frown(in some cases).Do not worry.Keep speaking! They are just testing you.Just don't panic.

OPTIMISTIC: Last but certainly not least, be optimistic.Do not think negative.Discussing with other candidates about the topic and especially about the invigilator is a drawback at the eleventh hour.Guys at least have faith in your hard work you all have put into the preparations.Don't ruin it by such kind of negative discussions.Just be calm!No reactions and move ahead for your turn.be optimistic and have faith in yourself!

So here we go!I think these above-mentioned factors are must for getting good bands in IELTS SPEAKING TEST and also taking out the fear of English.Remember English is just a language.Learn it as a language and you will nail it.Speak more and grow more!
